Tropical Backgrounds

New Photo Series!! I'm very excited to be working on a new macro series called Tropical Backgrounds. I have taken a million pictures of the plants in my yard. And I'm hoping to do the same at the Key West Garden Club. I'm so glad I brought my macro lens and extension tubes!

Here are a couple of my favorites. Both closeups of palm tree bark. Different palms of course.

The second one took many, many tries to get right. Since it's in the shade it's hard to get enough light in there to avoid camera shake. I was using a tripod and a shutter release, but even still. Plus the wind doesn't help. We hardly ever have a still day here. And it's such a small area to focus on. But I got the shot and I just love it.
