Beach at High Noon

We tried something new today, we went to the beach at noon. Mom wanted to put her feet in the water. First we stopped at Higgs Beach. It was pretty empty. And the water was almost too warm.

Then we rode up to Smather's. There was a lot more happening there. Beach volleyball and such. But not as crowded as you would think.

What is neat about the beach at noon is the color of the water. It really turns into that tropical green color with the sun high in the sky.

The garden club at Martello Tower was closed today, but it looks gorgeous. It's right off the beach as it used to be a fort. We're going back to walk around there tomorrow. How could I not go? It's one of Key West's last remaining free tourist attractions.
Here's the website
