Today was traumatic. I started off with a flat tire. I walked to the gas station and filled it up. I tested it and it stayed full for quite a while so I hoped I was good. But I knew better. I chose today to ride all the way out to Fort Zachary Park. When I get there the tire seems a little low but not too bad. I walk around the beach for 30 minutes and come back to a completely flat tire. The only snack stand isn't open. The umbrella guy can't help me with the tire. But as I am starting my walk out of the parking lot, I find a dime. Lucky dime. (Pennies are not lucky for me, dimes are.) Then I see a woman at a car with bikes on it. I ask her if she has a pump. She does!!! How exciting. I can at least put in enough air to get to the bike shop. I bike as quickly as I can to the bike shop who repairs my tire in 5 minutes. Great shop. For $11, I am back to biking around town.
They say it's a very rocky beach and it is. I'm glad I had flip flops on, although water shoes would be better as I had to chase my flip flop in the surf and those rocks were tough! This is the beach:
This is looking out from the pine trees:
This is standing in the water a bit:
And although you won't believe me, I didn't stage this picture. It just appeared this way. Nature set it up for me:
Nature also set this one up for me, with a little help from mankind:
