Morning Bike Ride: Sunday
Today, I went to where the cruise ships let out. Ugh, what a fake place. All shiny and clean with brick walks and fancy shops. It's not the Key West I know at all. There's not one homeless person, rooster, or stray cat to be seen. And not one single person says "Good Morning" as you pass by. I don't need to go back there again.
Then I went to Mallory Square, where you can see all the usuals.
Here's a stray cat I'm a little worried about. He sits in this spot every morning, right by the water. I think he likes the breeze and the sound of the gulf hitting the wall. That sore by his eye hasn't healed in a couple days. I hope that it does soon.
There's another cat in my neighborhood whose eye needs attention. It's probably just a little infection, but I'm worried that he might loose the eye if it doesn't get cleaned out. He's super friendly and still likes a good petting. People all over town leave out cans of cat food. I'm glad that the cats get some food.
I guess you can tell that I miss my cats. I have to go find stray ones to pet. I'm sure mine won't recognize me when I get home. The tan will really confuse them.
And just a ways down from Mallory Square is what I'm guessing is the tiniest beach in Key West, Simonton Beach. That's all of it in the picture, from the fence to the pier.

I wonder if there's a local vet who might treat the strays? Poor kitties.
