Aruba in June

I talked my family into going to Aruba this year for vacation. Color me surprised. I suggested it as a joke and it stuck. I can't complain because I am actually going to Aruba.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to blog while there. The Internet at the hotel is horrible and not free. So I will be relying on the Dunkin Donuts across the street from the hotel for free Wifi. I guess I'll be eating a few donuts as well. You gotta do what you gotta do, you know?

I bought a Nexus 7 for the trip. Honestly, I thought I had no need for a tablet. But 6 hours of traveling sounds like a perfect time to watch movies on a tablet. And strangely I've become an ebook reader overnight. All the Kindle book free sites have been bookmarked and I have a collection waiting to be read. Also this tablet allows me to upload images from my point and shoot. All I needed was an OTG cable, which I got off ebay for $1.50.

Here's a picture I downloaded and then edited on my tablet with Snapseed.

It's from Key West. I don't use my point and shoot much, but I think I will use it more on this trip. It has the underwater housing and it's easy to carry around. Plus the niece and nephew like to play with it. Believe me, I feel better when they play with that camera than with the 5D MarkII. Who am I kidding, I never let them play with the 5D.

Anyway, this was a tablet test. I can blog on this thing. It's a little annoying with the on-screen typing, but doable. So if the Dunkin Donuts pans out, look forward to an Aruba blog some time in June. I know it's not Key West but it's the closest that I will get this year.
