Today's Rooster

One last time to Mallory Square where there are plenty of roosters to photograph. They never disappoint there.

Last Day

We had to leave by 10 am so there wasn't time to do much especially since my family does not pack the night before (who are these people?).

Since I did pack the night before and I was up at 7, I had time for a walk. I went one last time to Mallory Square. There was no cruise ship this morning so the view of the water was unobstructed.

I asked the family what their favorite part of the vacation was. Jordan said going to Bahia Honda and having the sting ray swim by him. Amelia said taking pictures. Mom said the gorgeous house. And my favorite part was biking in the morning. There was a little something for everyone on this trip.

On our way home

We stopped for lunch in Marathon. I have some morning pictures to post. Maybe I'll have time at the airport.

Amelia's Splashing Around Photo

Here's Amelia's entry. I'm not found of getting my picture taken, but since she modeled for me it was the least I could do.

Last Night

It turns out that the Instagram weekend project was splashing around. Well, we are here and we have that pool so we had to try and get some pictures. Here are mine.

B.O.'s Fish Wagon

We ate dinner out for once. BO's had live music so that little shack felt even smaller. The kids and I signed a sign. We're leaving a piece of ourselves in Key West.

Today's Rooster

He's up in the marina parking lot every morning. He's the one waking everybody up. We don't have any on our street. From what I read that is a blessing.

Flora and Fauna

I am naming my twins that, by the way. Not as much Frangipani on the ground but enough to enjoy. I also found that crazy star thing. I don't know what it is but it looked cool.

Key West Butterfly Conservatory

Our afternoon activity was the Key West Butterfly Conservatory. It was much more fun than I imagined it would be. Butterflies fly all around you as you walk through the small conservatory. And they have many different kinds for you to enjoy.

Key Lime Pie

The kids had key lime Pie at Kermits. We sat outside in the garden with the Koi pond.

Monthly Rental

This house is a monthly rental that has a huge pool. It's on South Street in Casa Marina. If I ever get another month off I'd like to rent this house.

Private Beach

See that brown stuff? That's seaweed covering that private beach. The city is doing a great job cleaning up the public beach.

Painted Cars

All week I've been collecting photos of painted cars. It's amazing how many people paint their cars. Some also cover them in shells.

Morning Bike Ride

We rode to Smathers. There were some storms over the ocean. Then we worked our way back to the cemetery. The kids like to see all the iguanas that hang out there.

Good Morning from Key West

I get up at 7 and walk around the marina while everybody else sleeps. I figure that it is their vacation, they should get to sleep in a little. Our house is two blocks from the marina. All the workers park on our street (because it's free) and walk to work. I. Didn't think parking would be a problem in June but I was wrong.

Sunset

This is from last night. Between the three of us we probably have over 500 pictures of the sun setting. We're as bad as the lady with the iPad. (We made fun of her the night before in Mallory Square for snapping a million pictures with her big ole iPad.)

For Sale in Key West

I've been eyeing up this house on Zillow for quite some time. If you buy it for me, I will let you stay in the guest house any time. And it's a really nice one bedroom guest house.

Bahia Honda National Park

It must be one of the most beautiful places on earth. I haven't been many places, so take that with a grain of salt.

We had to wait out a rain storm, so we got ice cream at the concession stand. We swam for a while and then rented a double kayak. They had to have adult with them since they were under 18. I kayaked the whole time while they took turns. The kayak pictures are on the underwater camera.

Jordan saw a sting ray. It swam right by him. We saw tons of little fish swimming everywhere.
